Barcelona remain set on Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix deals coming at minimal cost – report

Barcelona are still interested in Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo, and it appears the Portuguese duo are still intent on returning to Catalonia. Nevertheless, the latest report is that their stance has not changed since the start of the summer.

Earlier in the week it was claimed in England that Barcelona were in talks over a deal with Manchester City that would see them shell out nearly €30m for Cancelo. Meanwhile Aston Villa appear to have cooled their interest in Felix, and Benfica do not have the funds to attack the deal as they would wish.

Yet MD say that Barcelona’s approach is the same for both. They will try to bring them back at the end of the transfer window if they have space in their salary limit, and will only do so on a simple loan deal. They will pay the salaries of Cancelo and Felix, but no more, say the Catalan daily.

Both will have increased competition by the looks of things. Alejandro Balde is back from injury on the left, while Julian Araujo and Hector Fort will seek minutes on the right of defence. On the left side of attack, Barcelona are pursuing Dani Olmo, while Ansu Fati has returned from loan, and Raphinha seem set on staying.

  1. Of course it is minimal cost. Due to poor financial management Barcelona cannot afford to pay the market rate, so unsettle players to the degree it is impossible to go back to their parent clubs and come to a settlement. You should stop unsettling players owned by other clubs and get on with your, admittedly, excellent academy.

  2. Not much to unsettle, none of the two players are worth a damn, a hasbeen who is lazy and useless and a CR wannabee whom 3 clubs couldnt find a place for.
