Getafe have brought in a third winger of the transfer window, with Carles Perez coming in to join Peter Federico and Alex Sola. Perez arrives on loan from Celta Vigo, after two seasons at Balaidos.

The 26-year-old had a tough season last year, barely featuring under Rafael Benitez, following a €5.2m move from Roma. Perez will join Los Azulones on loan with a €4m option to buy next summer, and joins the wide revolution, after Getafe went into last season almost without any natural width from midfield or attack, often using three at the back.

Perez is a direct and hard-working winger, and should do well in Jose Bordalas’ usual style. There is still plenty of uncertainty over their squad for the coming season though, after star striker Enes Unal left in January, and Borja Mayoral is expected to go this summer. Getafe survived comfortably last season, but it looks as if they will have major squad surgery in the final weeks of the window.
