Barcelona submit new €65m offer for Dani Olmo with improved payment structure

Having seemingly missed out on the signing of Nico Williams, Barcelona now appear to be going all-out to secure the services of their next top target: Dani Olmo. The Euro 2024 winner is desperately wanted by sporting director Deco, who has now communicated the Catalan club’s new offer to RB Leipzig.

As reported by Sport, this proposal exceeds the first one sent to Leipzig, which was dismissed as “insulting” by the Bundesliga side. An initial price of €50m would be paid by Barcelona, with the overall deal being worth up to €65m – above the €60m asking price that has been established.

Barcelona are inclined to believe that this offer will be accepted by Leipzig, and as such, they expect the deal to progress quickly. They want the operation closed as soon as possible, so that Olmo is their player before the start of the upcoming season, which kicks off in just over two weeks’ time.

Personal terms should not be too much of a problem for Barcelona, as Olmo is prioritising a return to the club he left nine years ago as a teenager. It would be no surprise at all if things progressed at a fast pace over the next week or so.
