Lazio make Vitor Roque proposal to Barcelona – Brazilian more interested in offer

Barcelona are already looking to ship out Brazilian forward Vitor Roque after just six months at the club, having spent €30m on the 19-year-old. Their financial situation means that rather than trying to nurture him into the player they want, they are trying to get their money back.

Roque is not keen to move to Saudi Arabia as things stand, and news broke that he had rejected an offer from Al-Hilal. This was a blow for Barcelona, as the Saudi side were willing to meet their €40m asking price for Roque.

He may be more willing to consider a move within Europe though, and while Porto are yet to come good on their interest, Barcelona have received a proposal from Lazio, as reported by Il Messaggero, and carried by Sport. They will not come close to the €40m asking price either, but would be willing to offer €20m for 50% of his rights, meaning the Blaugrana would receive half of any future fee.

Various La Liga sides are interested in a loan deal for Roque, with Real Betis the most keen, but as things stand, Barcelona would rather a departure in order to fund other attacking recruits. Should Nico Williams or Dani Olmo arrive, Roque and then Ansu Fati are top of the list of players Barcelona wish to part with.

It would essentially require a leap of faith from Barcelona to believe that Lazio would receive at least €20m for Roque in any future sale. Their lack of belief in Roque is perhaps the biggest negotiation tool against them, but his agent Andre Cury is keen on a move.
