Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix looks set to go on an unhappy preseason tour with the club this summer, as he continues to wait for his ideal move. How long that takes to materialise is a question Atletico would like an answer to.
The 24-year-old continues to prioritise a move to Barcelona, feeling he could be a part of Hansi Flick’s new project. Barcelona have put another loan move for Felix on the backburners though, and are only likely to move for him as a last resort. Sport say that despite interest from Benfica and Aston Villa, the fact the latter are only interested in a loan move is holding up things with Atletico too.

Nevertheless, Fabrizio Romano continues to posit Felix as Unai Emery’s priority and dream signing for Villa, suggesting they are not giving up on him just yet.
🚨🇦🇷 BREAKING: Julián Álvarez has dual nationality, Argentine-Italian.
He would not take a non-EU spot at Atlético Madrid.
Gallagher's arrival would not be a problem for his potential signing.

It does come as something of a surprise that Emery is so interested in Felix, given he generally requires his forwards to be positionally disciplined and hard-working – two traits that Felix has been chronically lacking in Spain thus far. No doubt if Emery could unlock his mercurial talent, then they would have a brilliant option at their disposal.
