Atletico Madrid have been very active in the transfer market without completing many deals. They finally closed the signing of Robin Le Normand over the weekend, but until now, he’s the only addition to Diego Simeone’s squad, which has already seen several departures. However, there is hope that new signings will arrive soon.
Atleti are closing in on a deal for Alexander Sorloth, and in further good news for supporters, they are making big progress with Chelsea in regards to Conor Gallagher.
The English midfielder is a top target for club officials, and according to Matteo Moretto, a deal is close between Atleti and Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that a deal would cost €35-40m, add-ons included. Atleti are pushing hard to agree personal terms with Gallagher, which could end up being the only stumbling block.

Gallagher would be a solid addition to Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid squad, although he does not satisfy the need that was required pre-summer – a new defensive midfielder. He can play that role, but it’s unlikely that he’d do it better than Koke Resurreccion.
