Saudi Arabia willing to offer €30-35m for Valencia star Giorgi Mamardashvili

Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili looked almost certain to depart Mestalla this summer, and even more so after his heroics for Georgia at Euro 2024. Yet the 23-year-old is in no hurry to leave the club.

Upon his arrival back in the city, he was quizzed on his future, and told the press that he wanted to stay at Valencia, but did not know if he would, as recounted by Marca. On the other hand, Relevo say that Saudi Arabia are willing to invest €30-35m in Mamardashvili, while Los Che have been demanding €40m for him. However Mamardashvili has already turned down two offers from middling Premier League sides.

He has decided to stall on the offer from Saudi Arabia, which would see him paid like a superstar, as he holds out for an offer from a top side. If that does not come, then he would be willing to remain at Valencia, where he knows he will start under a manager he has the backing of, and fans who love him.

Valencia are yet to make their usual big sale this summer, and it seems likely that either one of Javi Guerra or Mamardashvili will depart. The lack of interest in Mamardashvili has been something of a surprise though, with Chelsea instead moving for Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen. As Andriy Lunin has found at Real Madrid though, there are not many top goalkeeping jobs available this summer.
