Barcelona confident of being able to get Dani Olmo deal done with new offer on the way

Barcelona are reportedly preparing a fresh offer for Dani Olmo, and are confident of getting the deal done. The RB Leipzig creator also has interest from Bayern Munich, but will prioritise a move to the Blaugrana.

The Catalan side are believed to be prioritising a move for Nico Williams, but it seems they are still working on a deal for Olmo too. After initial terms of a €40m offer, paid in €10m instalments over four seasons, and €20m in variables appeared to be dismissed, Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona are preparing a new proposal.

Now Marca report that Barcelona feel that negotiations will lead to a favourable outcome, with Olmo himself desperate to return to his boyhood club a decade later. The 26-year-old was keen to have matters wrapped up before he returns to Leipzig training on the 9th of August, but Barcelona are not willing to guarantee that. All the same, they are working out ways to try and meet Leipzig’s €60m asking price.

The inference from many will be that if Barcelona are making progress in talks for Olmo, it means they have lost out on Williams. He is expected to communicate his intentions over his future this week, and Olmo is Barcelona’s prime alternative to the Basque winger. There have been hints that Williams is considering staying at Athletic Club though.
