Real Madrid will only be able to sign leading wonderkid target for €41.5m release clause

Real Madrid are not planning any further moves during this summer’s transfer window, and that could be because they are plotting big-money operations for 2025. Not only could Alphonso Davies and Trent Alexander-Arnold arrive as major free agent additions, they could also splash out on Franco Mastantuono.

Mastantuono has been a Real Madrid for many months, and it’s expected that they will make a big effort to sign him in the coming year or so. He’d be their next wonderkid signing from South America, following in the footsteps of Vinicius Junior, Rordygo Goes and Endrick Felipe.

As per Diario AS, Real Madrid’s director of football Santiago Solari is the driving force behind the interest in Mastantuono. He does not have a major say in signings, but his role is not nothing. Despite this, there are no talks ongoing between Los Blancos and River Plate for the time being.

Even if Real Madrid launched an offensive for Mastantuono in the coming weeks, he’d be unable to join until next summer – specifically, August (when he turns 18). The report states that it would be an expensive operation for Los Blancos, as River would demand the teenager’s full release clause: €41.5m.
