Rangers set to sign unwanted Sevilla midfielder as loan deal agreed between all parties

At the start of the summer, Sevilla only had two recognised central midfielders in their first team squad: Djibril Sow and Joan Jordan. They’ve since signed Albert Sambi-Lokonga and Saul Niguez, which will allow them to move on Jordan, who has no place in the plans of head coach Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Sevilla had accepted a loan offer for Jordan from Scottish side Rangers. The operation would include an optional €5m buy clause, and according to Jose Manuel Garcia, personal terms have now been agreed, meaning that the deal has received the green light.

It’s a good deal for Sevilla, who will save some of the wages of a person that they do not count on going forward. These are likely to be re-invested in a new central midfielder, as at least one more signing in this department will be required before the end of the summer transfer window.
