Real Madrid defender takes to social media to deny reports of injury

Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo has taken to X/Twitter to deny reports of an injury, which theoretically would have ruled him out of their preseason tour to the United States.

Vallejo, 27, has remarkably found himself as an option for Carlo Ancelotti as things stand, after Los Blancos failed to beat Manchester United to Leny Yoro’s signature. With Rafa Marin sold to Napoli and Nacho Fernandez in Saudi Arabia, Vallejo is the de facto fourth choice. Until David Alaba recovers late in the year, he will compete with Aurelien Tchouameni to be third-choice behind Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao.

On Saturday, there were reports that Vallejo had suffered a muscle problem that would prevent him from taking part in their US-based preseason friendlies. Yet Vallejo himself cleared up any doubts, tweeting out a picture of the article from Marca, with the caption: “This information is not correct. I am not injured and I am traveling on the US Tour.”

Real Madrid face AC Milan on the 1st of August, Barcelona on the fourth, and Chelsea on the seventh, before returning back to Spain to prepare for the European Supercup final against Atalanta on the 14th.
