Barcelona fans hoping Lamine Yamal – Nico Williams holiday can seal transfer

Barcelona are hoping to use their secret weapon in the race to sign Athletic Club star Nico Williams as per Marca.

La Blaugrana remain talks with his club and representatives over a possible transfer in the coming weeks after as superb showing at Euro 2024.

Following weeks of speculation, Athletic Club remain unmoved on their demand for Williams’ full €58m release clause to be paid in Bilbao, with Barcelona working on a deal.

The latest update claims a decision is close from all parties involved with Williams still away on his summer holiday.

The 22-year-old is currently in Marbella with Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal and the pair were mobbed on their arrival in Andalucia.

Barcelona fans will be hoping ‘Agent Lamine’ can persuade Williams on a move to Catalonia as interest from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain threatens to derail Barcelona’s work so far.

PSG are in a stronger position to pay above his release clause and offer an increased salary package.

  1. Williams would be smart to take the higher offer from PSG and step right in filling the role of former PSG star Kylian Mbappé . He can always sign with Barcelona, later in his career, for even more money, assuming the azul y grana get their finances in order. Too much risk to sign now with their finances in shambles. PSG, on the other hand, offer secure financial strength and an sure opportunity for championships. He would make a great bookend winger with Ousmane Dembélé on the other side.

And even if the blagruana run into financial problems, Nico can easily join any other club, given his extraordinary talent
