Atletico Madrid are one of the teams to watch in the transfer market at the moment. They’ve currently got several plates spinning, with the most prominent being their pursuit of Artem Dovbyk. Earlier this week, they agreed a €40m deal with Girona, but personal terms have caused a slight breakdown, which has led to Roma seriously rivalling them for the Ukrainian striker’s signature.
Despite this, Atleti are calm about the situation. Marca have reported that they firmly believe that Dovbyk will arrive at the Metropolitano.

It’s not only Dovbyk that Atleti are confident of signing. The report also states that club bosses believe Feyenoord will drop their asking price for David Hancko, which will allow them to finalise a deal for the Slovakian centre-back, who would replace the recently-departed Mario Hermoso on the left-side of defence. Currently, the two clubs have a valuation difference of €10m.

Furthermore, Atletico Madrid are preparing to make a new offer for Mikel Merino, who will almost certainly be leaving Real Sociedad in the coming weeks. Barcelona and Arsenal are pursuing the Euro 2024-winning midfielder, but those at Los Colchoneros are confident of adding him to Diego Simeone’s squad for the 2024-25 campaign and beyond.
