RB Leipzig willing to consider deal structure for Dani Olmo that would suit Barcelona

Barcelona appear to have set their sights on Dani Olmo, if they can secure the signature of Nico Williams or not, and the RB Leizpig player is keen on a return to the club he spent his formative years at. Whether Barcelona can put up the money that Leipzig are demanding for Olmo is another matter.

As per Sport, Olmo was close to making a move to Bayern Munich, who are the other club in the race for him, but the player himself halted talks with the Bavarian giants. When Barcelona’s interest became clear, Olmo wanted to wait and see how things played out. All the same, if Barcelona cannot do a deal, then Bayern will be leading the race for him.

If Barcelona can afford a deal, Christian Falk has delivered good news for the Catalans to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing. Leipzig will not budge on their €60m asking price for Olmo, as Dinamo Zagreb have a 25% sell-on clause for the Euro 2024 winner. However they would be willing to accept an offer that pays the fee in instalments, which would suit Barcelona far more than paying a release clause up front.

All the same, Barcelona appear to be focused on signing Williams first. When they will have clarity on their finances is an unknown though, and if Bayern begin to put pressure on Olmo, there seems little guarantee the Blaugrana can make a deal happen. As August nears, Barcelona’s targets will doubtless begin to wonder when and if the official offers are coming.
