Atletico Madrid are trying to raise funds to close a number of big-money signings, but despite this, there are no plans whatsoever to sell Samu Omorodion. The 20-year-old striker, currently with Spain at the Olympic Games in Paris, is firmly in Diego Simeone’s plans for the upcoming season.
Samu may not be a regular starter, especially given that Atleti are pursuing a deal for Artem Dovbyk, but he will be a valuable squad option. So far, Los Colchoneros have rejected three offers from Chelsea, who are not giving up in their pursuit of the talented youngster, as reported by Ben Jacobs.
🚨🇪🇸 JUST IN: Chelsea still haven't given up on Samu Omorodion. Atleti don't want to sell and it may take €70m to change their mind. The Spanish club really want Omorodion to sign a new deal and insert a €120m release clause.@JacobsBen pic.twitter.com/BBefZQ7Lbo

Chelsea believe that €70m may be what it takes to sign Samu, although Atleti are planning to increase their asking price further. They want to agree a new contract, which would increase his asking price to €120m.
Especially with Antoine Griezmann coming towards the final few years of his career, it’s imperative that Atletico Madrid hold on to Samu, who has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world. Club bosses are certainly doing their best to ensure that he stays for the time being.
