Barcelona talks for Dani Olmo not advanced amid Bayern Munich interest

Barcelona have made no secret of their interest in Nico Williams this summer, but it has not stopped the perenially linked Dani Olmo from becoming a story either. The La Masia-raised creator’s match-winning performances at Euro 2024 certainly didn’t hurt either.

The Blaugrana are still focusing all of their efforts on signing Nico Williams, reports Matteo Moretto, and despite some reports of offers arriving at RB Leipzig’s door for Olmo, talks for him are not advanced on Barcelona’s end. The player would like to return to his boyhood club, and while Bayern Munich are also chasing Olmo, Barcelona do remain alive in the race too. First, Barcelona still need to seal an exit before they can think about signing Olmo.

Olmo has been posited as the second priority for Barcelona after Williams, and it would certainly be a fascinating prospect if, as local press have said, Barcelona can sign both. Olmo also tends to part from the left side, but could play in the middle too. However if both were to arrive, it would leave the likes of Pedri and Ilkay Gundogan potentially looking at playing in a less natural position.
