Barcelona ease off in pursuit of Dani Olmo deal

It’s no secret that Barcelona are aiming to make two major signings during this summer’s transfer window: those of Nico Williams and Dani Olmo. The former is their absolute priority, although they have already launched an opening offer for the latter, which was rejected by RB Leipzig.

Olmo is very keen on a return to Barcelona, where he was previously part of La Masia. However, he will have to wait, as Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Catalan giants will not advance their pursuit of his signature until they know the outcome of the Williams situation.

Barcelona had hoped to secure Williams’ agreement already, but so far, it has not come. It may not arrive until the first week of August, as he’s currently enjoying some time off after his involvement for Spain at Euro 2024.

It does seem to be that Barcelona will be kept waiting by Williams, which will have a knock-on effect in their efforts for Olmo. That could be a good thing, as they’d have the time to realise that a deal for the latter is not particularly necessary, especially if the former does decide to join from Athletic Club.

  1. Just loan more fatso, no problems and sign players. Its not like it matters anyway, if youre going to bankrupt the institution go out in style. Owing 1 billion or 3 billions doesnt matter in the long run when liquidation process begins.

LaPorkas big brain idea is probably: since we arent making any money on sporting success, there will be less to pay back in lever percentage money.
