(WATCH) Arne Slot offers cheeky response on Trent Alexander-Arnold contract question

Liverpool boss Arne Slot is calm over the future of defender Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield.

The Reds have landed in the USA for a preseason tour, but Alexander-Arnold will not join them at this stage, as remains on holiday.

The full back was granted an extended break by Slot following England’s run to the final of Euro 2024 earlier this month.

However, major transfer speculation has erupted over his next move, with less than 12 months left on his contract on Merseyside.

The Liverpool native is eligible to discuss a free transfer with non English clubs from the start of 2024 and Real Madrid are tracking him.

Liverpool have informed Los Blancos there will be no sale this summer with Jude Bellingham rumoured to be working on tempting him to make the move to Madrid.

Slot offered a sharp response when asked about his confidence on a renewal for Alexander-Arnold as talks are set to restart in the coming months.

“Contract situations are not discussed in this place (press conferences) but keep trying!”

Liverpool kick off their tour of North America against Real Betis on July 27 in Pittsburgh.
