Barcelona are pushing hard to sign Williams, and he is their top target for the summer transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain are also keen. Athletic Club are hoping that the 22-year-old rejects this interest, and remains at San Mames for at least one more season.
The expectation is that Williams’ decision will be known in the coming days, but before then, he has agreed a major sponsorship deal. As reported by Marca, he’s set to become one of the new faces of Nike, joining the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe.
This agreement has no bearing on Williams’ future decision, although it’s noting that Barcelona boast Nike as their kit manufacturer. It means that a deal to join the Catalans could be worth even more to him, although that’s very unlikely to have any influence on where he wants to play football for the upcoming season.
