Real Madrid transfer target has asked to leave current club

It’s starting to look more and more likely that Aymeric Laporte will be return to La Liga this summer. The 30-year-old defender, who helped Spain win Euro 2024 earlier this month, is already planned for his next move.

As reported by Rudy Galetti, Laporte has asked to leave Al-Nassr, the club he joined Manchester City from last summer. The Saudi Arabian giants are prepared to orchestrate a departure, but only if an acceptable offer were to arrive.

In the last week or two, Laporte has been linked with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Los Blancos have internally discussed the possibility of signing Laporte, while Atleti have him on their shortlist of defensive targets. Athletic Club also dream of securing his return, but at this stage, it’s unlikely due to the asking price set by Al-Nassr.

Laporte would be an excellent signing for either club, and any doubts about his ability after one season in Saudi Arabia were dispelled at Euro 2024. It will be very interesting to see whether a return to La Liga comes to fruition.
