Real Betis preparing contract offer for low-cost Barcelona target

Real Betis have already concluded five pieces of business this summer, having secured the signings of Romain Perraud, Marc Roca, Iker Losada, Diego Llorente and Adrian San Miguel. Manuel Pellegrini’s squad has got stronger, although losing a key player like Ayoze Perez would mean that this is not the case.

Ayoze had a fantastic second half of the season in 2023-24, and that form earned him a call-up to Spain’s Euro 2024 squad. He’s set to return to Betis in the next couple of weeks to begin preparations for the upcoming campaign, and when he does, it’s expected that he will also finalise negotiations over a new contract with Los Verdiblancos.

As reported by Relevo, Ayoze and Betis are both keen to extend their relationship, which started on a permanent basis last summer. The idea is for the new deal to run beyond 2027, and it would also include an increase in his release clause, which currently sits at a bargain price of €4m.

Barcelona were linked with Ayoze earlier in the summer as a low-cost alternative to Nico Williams, and the report states that he is still on their agenda. However, the 30-year-old does not think about leaving Real Betis, and soon, he hopes to commit his future to the club for a longer period of time.

  1. Ayoze is a key piece of the puzzle for Betis. Basically a must sign. Good to see they are going for a long term deal. Good luck to all.
