Real Madrid expecting to make no more signings this summer

As things stand, Real Madrid’s squad for the upcoming season will be smaller than the one that ended the previous campaign in June. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Nacho Fernandez, Toni Kroos and Joselu Mato have all departed this summer, with only Kylian Mbappe and Endrick Felipe having arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid had hoped for one more signing to arrive, that being Leny Yoro, but he joined Manchester United last week. Despite this, there are no plans to sign another centre-back, despite the departure of Nacho.

In fact, Diario AS say that no more plans are planned at all by Real Madrid’s sporting department. The only possible arrivals could be Kepa Arrizabalaga (if Andriy Lunin leaves) and a low-cost central defender (provided that an acceptable one becomes available).

If the latter does not happen, Real Madrid will go into the 2024-25 season with only 22 first team players – that’s despite the fact that Carlo Ancelotti’s squad will be competing in six competitions, including the new 32-team Club World Cup, set for next summer.
