Barcelona outcast Vitor Roque linked with immediate return to Brazil

It’s safe to say that Vitor Roque’s first six months as a Barcelona player have been incredibly difficult. He was barely called upon by Xavi Hernandez during the second half of last season, and already, it’s being heavily reported that club bosses are aiming to move him on during this summer’s transfer window.

Barcelona’s preference would be to sell Roque for a large amount, as this would help in their pursuits of Nico Williams, Dani Olmo and a new defensive midfielder. However, a loan could also be possible, and a potential return to Brazil may be on the cards.

According to Tv Band (via Sport), Corinthians are very interested in a temporary move for Roque, and they’ve already held talks with his agent, Andre Cury. However, the operation has been described as extremely difficult to pull off.

It would make little sense for Barcelona to send Roque back to Brazil, given the stark contrast in level between there and La Liga. Realistically, they shouldn’t be giving up on the teenage forward after only six months, and the arrival of Hansi Flick could help to kick-start his career in Catalonia.
