Barcelona hoping to replace Vitor Roque with 22-year-old former Barca Atletic striker

Barcelona are looking to bring Girona striker Pau Victor back to the club this summer, after a stellar season, finishing as top scorer for Barca Atletic, with 20 goals and 6 assists to his name. They had a €3m buy option to make the deal permanent, but missed the deadline for it.

Nevertheless, Barcelona still harbour ambitions of bringing Victor back to the club, and Cadena SER assure that they have closed a deal for him to return from Girona. Nevertheless, MD contradict that information, and say that nothing has been settled yet. Their information is that if any deal does happen, then it will be for a maximum of €2.5m, which is the limit the Blaugrana have set for the deal.

Where both reports coincide is that Victor will no longer be playing third-tier football: if he does return, it will be to Montjuic as part of the first team, rather than for Barca Atletic at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

It could well be that Barcelona then try to move him on again at a profit this summer, but if he is to go into the first team, that would only further increase speculation that Vitor Roque will not be there next summer. If Victor arrives to stay, then there will be three natural number nines in the squad, and the consistent line of reporting has been that Barcelona will try to move Roque on this summer.
