Sergi Roberto has two preferred destinations in mind for leaving Barcelona

Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto looks set to leave the club this summer after joining as a 14-year-old, 18 years ago. Out of contract, Barcelona have agreed terms on a new deal with him, but asked him to wait and see if there was space in their salary limit to sign it.

Roberto has grown tired of waiting, as per Matteo Moretto. He explained to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that Roberto has indeed waited, but now well into July, he has decided to consider other options, as Barcelona have not even been in contact with him to update him on the situation.

Of the potential destinations on his mind, Roberto is awaiting offers from the Premier League and from outside of Europe, but does not have anything advanced with any club. Sevilla have offered him a deal, but he has decided to wait and see what comes up elsewhere first.

Roberto’s stance is fairly understandable. While he has always given Barcelona priority, their tardiness will be impacting on his options in the coming weeks, with no certainty there will be an offer he likes at the end of it.
