Pedri positive over speedy injury return at Barcelona

Barcelona could be boosted by a faster return than expected for midfield star Pedri.

Following an knee injury suffered in the quarter finals of Euro 2024 the 21-year-old missed Spain’s eventual final victory.

Despite initial indications hinting at an eight-week absence, his return is now expected to be within five weeks, at a total of seven weeks.

Barcelona will receive compensation from UEFA due to the injury being suffered at an international tournament but their priority is focused on getting Pedri back on the pitch.

Pedri has issued an update on his recovery with positivity growing that he could be ready before the end of August.

“I feel better every day and I’ve just started my holidays. I’m training every day and want to recover to start the season at full speed”, as per quotes from Diario Sport.

Pedri will miss out on Barcelona’s preseason tour of the USA, as his recovery continues back in Catalonia in the coming weeks.

He is tipped to miss the first two La Liga games of the 2024/25 season but could be available in time to face Rayo Vallecano on August 27.
