Barcelona look to be in motion in the transfer market, despite no confirmation of their ability to sign and register anyone. A meeting between Sporting Director Deco and Nico Williams’ agent was revealed on Wednesday evening, and now it has come to light that he has also met with Dani Olmo’s agent this week.
As per MD, Deco met with Olmo’s agent to get closer on personal terms with a view to signing the RB Leipzig creator. They say that Olmo’s signing is not necessarily dependent on how things go with Williams. Olmo has a release clause of €60m that expires on the 20th of July, and is attracting interest from Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

The report continues on to detail that Atletico are trailing in terms of Olmo’s preferences. The 26-year-old, who is under contract at Leipzig until 2027, is keen on returning to Barcelona, and it is also noted that he shares an agent with Mikayil Faye, whose future at Barcelona is in doubt.

Olmo commented on Wednesday that his agent ‘already knows’ what he wants to do, and left his future up in the air. So far Olmo has always been posited as an alternative to Williams, and certainly it seems unlikely Barcelona would be unlikely to sign both. Not least because of the fit. If Williams arrives, Olmo would either compete for a spot on the left or play in a number 10 role, which Pedri, Fermin Lopez, Ilkay Gundogan and potentially Gavi would all compete for.
