Alvaro Valles update: Real Betis in no rush to submit new offer to Las Palmas

Las Palmas will be tearing their hair out with the Alvaro Valles situation. Last week, they agreed a €10m deal with Marseille to sell the wantaway goalkeeper, who was outstanding in La Liga last season. However, he turned down the opportunity to join the Ligue 1 giants, as he has his heart set on a return to Real Betis.

Valles is out of contract next summer, and he will be ostracised from the Las Palmas squad if he does not sign a renewal – this is taken for granted, given that he has no plans to extend his stay in Gran Canaria. A move to Betis is inevitable, although it may not take place during the current summer transfer window.

Marca have reported that Betis are in no rush to submit a new offer for Valles. They do want to sign the 26-year-old this summer, but until Rui Silva leaves, they do not intend to send another proposal to Las Palmas.

Betis are open to selling Silva, who is attracting interest. However, none of the offers received so far have convinced club bosses, so for now, a sale will not take place. It means that Valles will be kept waiting, although he is prepared to see out his Las Palmas contract in order to ensure his arrival at the Benito Villamarin.
