Barcelona star Gavi losing best friend at club this summer due to exit

Barcelona star Gavi is still several months away from getting back on the pitch, but is showing promising signs, after celebrating Spain’s Euro 2024 victory as the 27th member of their squad.

The diagnosis is that Gavi will not return to action before October or November of this year, and the club are keen to avoid rushing him back, given the significant issues suffered by Ansu Fati in recent years.

As per Relevo, Gavi has barely taken a break in his recovery work this summer. Save for a few days at the beach with his friends, Gavi has been at the training centre all summer, and is now back on the grass, sprinting and changing direction.

He will lose one of his best friends at the club this summer though. Together with Fermin Lopez, 19-year-old midfielder Cristo Munoz formed a trio of best friends at Can Barca. Munoz has moved to Lazio on a free this summer though after his contract expired, although he did find time to join Lopez at Euro 2024 on the pitch during the celebrations.
