It’s already been a very busy summer for Atletico Madrid – at least in terms of outgoings. Six players have already departed, with the latest being Alvaro Morata (his move to AC Milan is not yet official, but will be very soon). These exits should ensure that club officials can begin a spending spree.
Robin Le Normand’s signing from Real Sociedad will be announced imminently, and further moves are being planned for David Hancko and Mikel Merino. An attacker is also wanted following the departures of Memphis Depay and Morata, and a surprise name has emerged as a strong candidate to fill those voids.

As reported by Bild (via MD), Atleti are considered as favourites to sign Dani Olmo, who’s set to leave RB Leipzig this summer. Barcelona and Manchester City have been strongly linked with the three-goal Euro 2024 star in recent weeks, but for now, it appears that they are in second place.
Olmo would be a fantastic addition to any squad in Europe, and Atletico Madrid are no different. However, it would be a surprise if they were to sign him, given that Diego Simeone is in need of a new striker – Olmo is not that, although he is more than capable of acting as a false nine.
