WATCH: Best bits from Spain Euro 2024 party – Carvajal’s entrance, Lamine Yamal dancing and crazy atmosphere

The Spain squad arrived back in Madrid on Monday afternoon with the Euro 2024 trophy under Alvaro Morata‘s arm, as they then paraded it around the Spanish captital. It was a raucous atmosphere, with thousands of fans packing out the Cibeles fountain long before the players arrived around 21:00 CEST.

The wait and the 30-degree hear did not discourage fans though, as they were whipped up into a frenzy, less than 24 hours after many of them would have gathered there after the game.

The squad first went ot the Royal Palace in order to greet King Felipe IV, the queen and princesses, thanking him for their support. They would then join Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at Moncloa, where he thanked the side for showing ‘the best of Spain’.

Once the players were finally at Cibeles, Morata took it upon himself to MC for the night, presenting all of his teammates one-by-one to the crowds. Morata introduced him as the ‘boar of Spain’, asked ‘where is Musiala?’ and welcomed ‘the best right-back in the world’ to the stage.

Before that, Morata had paid tribute to the previous generation of Spain players who won Euro 2008, the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012, including Carles Puyol, Andres Iniesta and David Villa for ‘teaching them how to fight.’

He also paid homage to the fans, and Spain as a whole,

“We have the best food, the best holdiay spots, the best workers, the best farmers, delivery drivers, everything! We have to know that we are the BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD”

Meanwhile Lamine Yamal was congratulated not just for winning Young Player of the Tournament at Euro 2024, but also for passing his exams and making it into the senior years of high school. One of the images of the tournament has been Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal busting out moves together, and they gave the people what they wanted towards the end of the celebration.

In addition, Rodri Hernandez might have got himself into trouble after he got on the microphone to sing ‘Gibraltar is Spanish’, before Morata pointed out to him that he will be headed back to England to play for Manchester City in a matter of weeks.

Marc Cucurella probably offended less people with his rendition of the ‘paella song’, dedicated to the curly-haird left-back, albeit debuting a new hairstyle.
