Atletico Madrid striker and Spain captain Alvaro Morata has confirmed that he is heading back to Italy after two years back in La Liga, where he will join AC Milan. The Rossoneri have activated his €15m release clause, and Morata will move to Milan after celebrating Spain’s win over England in the Euro 2024.
Morata led the celebrations at Cibeles on Monday night, MCing for the Spain squad and introducing each of his team members. He has won the hearts of many over the last few weeks, especially within the Spain squad, but has spoken about how much he has struggled with jokes and criticism in his native country, saying Spain ‘doesn’t respect anyone or anything’.

Once again during the open-top bus parade, as Spain went on their way to present the trophy to the fans. A fan can be seen holding a sign that says ‘Morata, I don’t put it in either’, and when he appears to see the sign, he launches a cup of whatever he was drinking at the fan.

The images come from a video captured during the parade, and there’s no knowledge of the cup doing any damage or making contact. Neither has the issue gone any further so far.
