Lille defender Leny Yoro stood out this season as one of the top young talents in the game, and it did not take a genius to spot his talent. Real Madrid feel they have done the hard part in getting Yoro to prioritise signing for them though.
They began negotiations with Lille last week, but are still not though to be close to an agreement, while Manchester United made a surprise move last week, offering a deal worth over €50m including bonuses for Yoro. Lille have accepted that offer, which is much higher than what Los Blancos are willing to offer.
As revealed to Football España by Matteo Moretto, Lille are putting pressure on Yoro to head to United instead of Real Madrid, and clearly the Red Devils are doing all they can to persuade Yoro too. Los Blancos remain relaxed, convinced that they do not need to worry about Yoro’s resolve, but ultimately it will come down to what he decides.
Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain were interested in Yoro, the latter making an offer in January, but have cooled their interest in the 18-year-old after learning that he was intent on going to Real Madrid. Their record of bringing in the top young talents is to be envied, and if this deal stays true to form, then Real Madrid are right to be relaxed.
