Sevilla have confirmed the signing of Saul Niguez on loan from Atletico Madrid for next season, with an option to extend the loan.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone had reportedly told Saul that he was not part of his plans for the coming year, and with Los Rojiblancos keen to unload a reported €8m annual salary, were willing to let him go on the cheap.

Los Nervionenses will have a chance to extend his loan for a further season if they please, and that would see his deal at Atletico expiring in 2026, meaning he would be a free agent at that point.

The 29-year-old has spent all of his career at Atletico with the exception of loan spells at Rayo Vallecano and Chelsea, racking up over 400 games, and playing his part in both of Atletico’s league title wins under Diego Simeone. He will join a Sevilla side with Garcia Pimienta attempting to rebuild their midfield.
