Athletic Club and Spain star Nico Williams is likely to fill plenty of front pages in the coming weeks, as speculation continues to grow over a move. With a €58m release clause, it’s become common knowledge that he is the number one target for Barcelona.
However he has also been linked to the Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain of late too, and Sport say that Williams’ agent has received ‘astronomical offers’ from England and France. They do not name the clubs but it would be a surprise if any other French sides had the means to reach an astronomica’ offer.

The Catalan daily go on to say that Barcelona hope to have confirmation that they are back within their salary limit this week, which would help them make a move for Williams. They even go as far as saying that internally they are under the impression they already are.
It is not the first time that Barcelona have been optimistic about their economic situation though, and in the past it has not always worked out as they have hoped. Other sources continue to report that Barcelona must make a sale before they can consider making a move for Williams.
