Arsenal midfielder seals move to Spain after three years at Emirates

Arsenal midfielder Albert-Moyo Sambi Lokongo has joined Spanish side Sevilla, on a deal that Los Nervionenses will have a chance to make permanent if they so desire. The 24-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Crystal Palace and Luton Town.

Sambi Lokonga arrives on loan, but Sevilla confirmed they have an option to buy, which Fabrizio Romano reports to be worth €12m. If they do execute that option, then Arsenal will retain a 25% sell-on fee too. An international with Belgium, Sambi Lokonga made 39 appearances for Arsenal in total, after joining from Anderlecht in a deal worth €17.5m.

Last season at Luton, he made 19 appearances, in which he scored once and assisted three times. He has been used in various roles in the middle of the pitch, and should add a player with the ability to make an impact on the ball. He comes into a midfield with little certainty over its composition next season, with only Djibril Sow guaranteed his place next season.
