Valencia star yet to receive firm interest, despite Premier League links

Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili has been impressing for some time in La Liga already, but was again in fine form for Georgia at Euro 2024. Many suspected that he may move on this summer as a result, with Bayern Munich already looking at him last summer, but so far, there is no sign of a move being imminent.

Los Che have reportedly set a €40m asking price for the mammoth goalkeeper, but no side has made any concrete moves yet, as Matteo Moretto told Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing. The likes of Bayern and Liverpool have been linked to him, but so far nothing has transpired.

Atletico Madrid are also one of his admirers, and would consider him a replacement for Jan Oblak. Yet the Slovenian, who would likely be allowed out of the Spanish capital for the right offer, is yet to receive any offers either, meaning the Metropolitano is unlikely to be an exit route for Mamardashvili any time soon.

Oblak is one of the highest earners at Atletico, and despite the club communicating that he is a central pillar of their side, multiple sources, including Moretto, maintain that the right offer for club and player could extract him. By that time, it could well be too late for Los Rojiblancos to look to Mamardashvili, yet so far, he would remain an option in their shortlist.
