Spain vs England: Who takes home the Euro 2024 title?

After four weeks of pulsating action, it all comes down to one match on Sunday evening: the final of Euro 2024. Spain booked their place in Berlin with an edgy 2-1 victory over France on Tuesday, and 24 hours later, England joined them after they defeated The Netherlands by the same scoreline.

Showpiece events such as the Euro 2024 final are always popular events for punters, and Sunday’s fixture will be no different. Overtime Heroic’s Tipico review is a good source for those looking for guides on how to approach betting on the match in Berlin.

There’s little doubt that Spain have been the best team at Euro 2024, and victory on Sunday would confirm them as one of the greatest ever sides to play at a European Championship. Luis de la Fuente’s charges have won every match that they’ve played in Germany this summer, and a seventh victory is their aim.

La Roja are more than capable of causing many problems for the English. Their most important players will be in the middle of the park, where the midfield trident of Rodri Hernandez, Fabian Ruiz and Dani Olmo will play – all three have been outstanding over the last few weeks, and they could all be in the running to win Player of the Tournament.

Meanwhile, Spain’s biggest threat will be on the wings. Lamine Yamal has had a breath-taking 12 months, and the youngster will aim to carry his form into the final on Sunday, which will be his first match as a 17-year-old. He’ll operate on the right, and close friend Nico Williams will play on the left – they’ll each be tasked with providing the creative spark required to open up England’s stern defence.

Spain will probably start as favourites for the final, but England can never be counted out. Although they have not performed as well as many expected, they’re still in the competition on merit, and their fighting spirit has ensured that they’ve scored many late goals, including the one from Ollie Watkins against The Netherlands.

For Spain’s defence, as well as Rodri, it will be crucial to shut down England’s attacking players, which include the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka. All four players have not lived up to the billing so far, but that would all be forgotten if they came up big in Berlin. La Roja’s job is to make sure that does not happen.

An incredible occasion is in store on Sunday, and Spain will be aiming to become the outright most successful team in European Championship history. Can they do it? It remains to be seen.
