Girona have been incredibly active in the transfer market over the last few weeks, and they’ve already secured the signings of Ladislav Krejci, Abel Ruiz, Gabriel Misehouy and Donny van de Beek. Arrivals have been essential for the Catalans, given that they’ve already lost Savio, Yan Couto, Eric Garcia and Aleix Garcia from last season’s squad.
Another player that helped them secure Champions League football could also be on his way out, as Diario AS have reported that Manchester United and Aston Villa are interested in Viktor Tsygankov. Both clubs have spoken to the Ukrainian’s representatives, and have communicated that they will make opening offers in the near future.
Girona do not want to sell Tsygankov, and they will not negotiate with any interested clubs. The problem is that the 26-year-old winger only has a €30m release clause, which is easily accessible for clubs in the Premier League. Holding on to him for the remainder of the summer could be difficult.
