Lamine Yamal and Rodri clinch UEFA Euro 2024 awards after final win

Spain’s incredible Euro 2024 title win has been capped off with a double player award win.

La Roja had to show real grit in the closing stages of the final in Berlin, as Mikel Oyarzabal came off the bench to score the winning goal.

It was a night of nerves for Spain in the German capital, with the team battling back to end England’s hopes of a first ever European title.

However, despite being forced off injured at half time, midfield star Rodri Hernandez scooped the Player of the Tournament trophy.

The Manchester City star has been his usual controlled metronomic self in the Spain midfield as they eventually sealed glory.

But the main takeaway story as Spain lifted the trophy, was the Young Player of Euro 2024 award for Lamine Yamal, who laid on an assist for Spain’s opener from Nico Williams.

The 17-year-old netted a wonder goal in the 2-1 semi final win over France, creating a new record as the tournament’s youngest ever scorer, and his four assists set a new Spain European Championship record.

It capped an incredible month for the teenager, as his rise to stardom continues.
