Earlier this week, Manchester United had an offer accepted for Lille defender Leny Yoro, believed to be worth in the region of €50m. It leaves Real Madrid in a tricky situation, as they have the 18-year-old has their top target to address the current lack of centre-back options in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Yoro is reportedly prioritising a move to Real Madrid, although he is considering the offer from Man United, which will be a five-year deal with the option of an extra 12 months. As reported by Florian Plettenberg, the two clubs are the only ones that Yoro will consider joining this summer.

Real Madrid have opened talks with Lille on the back of Man United’s accepted offer, but they are still behind in the race for his signature. They need to hope that Yoro waits for them, which is far from guaranteed. In the meantime, alternative targets are being drawn up.
