Spain star insists no change needed for England in Euro 2024 final

Spain star Dani Olmo believes there is no need for a tactical shift ahead of facing England in the final of Euro 2024.

La Roja take on Gareth Southgate’s side in the showpiece game in Berlin on July 14 on the back of a superb tournament.

Spain are the only side to win all six games at Euro 2024 with extra time only needed in their quarter final victory over hosts Germany.

Olmo has seen his role increase from impact substitute to key starter following an injury to Pedri against Germany.

The 28-year-old has scored in all three of Spain’s knockout matches and will start in the engine room against England.

Despite the pressure of facing a England team improving as the tournament goes on, Olmo is confident Spain are right where they want to be.

“If it’s working, why change it? We’re showing a unique and personalised style of play. We have our weapons and we can do different things when needed”, as per quotes from Marca.

“As the manager says, we can always improve, but we’re preparing for the final in the same way as always.”

Luis de la Fuente is expected to rotate his defence against England but the midfield and attacking six will be unchanged from the semi final win over France.
