Manchester United have had a bid accepted by Lille for teenage starlet Leny Yoro, but they still need to convince the defender to join them. Yoro has already agreed terms with Real Madrid, and they are his priority for this summer though.

The Red Devils’ bid has been reported at between €45-50m, whereas Real Madrid do not want to surpass the €40m-mark. However Los Blancos are clearly taking United’s competition seriously, as Fabrizio Romano has revealed that they were back in contact with Yoro this week.

They did so to reiterate to the defender that he is their priority, and just how important h is in their plans for the future. Talks continue with Lille over a deal, but Real Madrid also did not guarantee that Yoro would join them this summer. Either it will be on their terms, or next summer, when Yoro’s contract expires.

The centre-back is keen to move this summer, and accepting United’s offer would be a guarantee of that, but Real Madrid are no doubt confident of getting a deal done this summer, as Lille will not want to risk Yoro leaving for free next year. It is interesting that Real Madrid have reportedly identified an alternative to Yoro though.
