Sergio Ramos waiting for Saudi Arabia offer before making decision on future

Sergio Ramos is on the hunt for a new club for the third time in four years after leaving Sevilla at the end of last season. Having returned to his boyhood club for a single season, Ramos is likely to leave European football.

Major League Soccer is currently his most likely destination. San Diego FC have offered him a contract, and Rene Ramos, his brother and agent, went to the city, where he got to know the area and heard out the terms. However Relevo say that with San Diego only debuting in 2025, Ramos is in no hurry to take a decision. While he would no doubt be on a significant package in the USA, he is also waiting to see if an offer from Saudi Arabia comes in. That would likely be the largest offer for the 38-year-old.

Ramos showed last season he could still cut it at a good level, organising Sevilla’s defence despite his limitations. It looks as if the last has been seen of him on European shores though. With Nacho Fernandez, Joselu Mato, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo all in Saudi Arabia though, he might be tempted to follow the Real Madrid core to the Middle East.
