Barcelona miss out on signing of prolific teenage striker

Despite that fact that their financial situation continues to cause many concerns, Barcelona have not moved away from their pledge to fill La Masia with exciting young talent. Their latest target has been Marc Domenech, a prolific 18-year-old striker that currently plays in Mallorca’s youth categories.

Barcelona recently had a €300k bid for Domenech turned down, and although an improved offer was being readied, it matters little now. That’s because the teenager has signed a new five-year deal at Mallorca, as revealed by Ultima Hora (via Sport).

Domenech appeared to confirm the news himself on his Instagram, although as of yet, there has been no official announcement from Mallorca. Nevertheless, it does seem to be that they are keeping one of their prized academy stars.

Barcelona had Domenech in their sights following the departures of Marc Guiu and Pau Victor. The latter was in fantastic form for Barca Atletic last season, and he could still re-join later this summer if a new agreement can be reached with Girona.
