Las Palmas accept €10m offer from Marseille for wantaway goalkeeper – deal completion far from certain

Las Palmas are resigned to losing Alvaro Valles. The 26-year-old goalkeeper, who had an excellent 2023-24 campaign, sees his contract expire next summer, and it’s already been confirmed that he will not be signing an extension.

As a result, Las Palmas want to close a sale before the transfer window closes later this summer. They set an asking price of €10m, and that has been matches by Ligue 1 giants Marseille, as revealed by La Provincia. An agreement on personal terms will now be sought between Marseille and Valles.

However, it’s not certain that Valles ends up in France in the coming weeks, as he wants to join Real Betis. Personal terms are already finalised with the Andalusians, but their best offer is significant lower than the one presented by Marseille, which is why Las Palmas have not accepted.

It’ll be interesting to see how this situation plays out over the next coming days. Betis will have to up their offer if they are to land one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga, but right now, it’s not certain that they will.
