Atletico Madrid linked with French forward as Alvaro Morata statements cast doubt

Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has been evasive on his future all summer, after apparently confirming that he would be staying in the Spanish capital. Los Rojiblancos are starting to consider alternatives though.

Morata turned down a deal at Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia, but recent interest from AC Milan has thrust his future into doubt again. Milan are reportedly confident they can get a deal for Morata done, with his release clause believed to be between €13m and €15m, and Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Atletico are looking at Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani. PSG are looking at Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, but with both Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos in the squad already, would like to free up a spot in the squad first.

The 25-year-old played 40 times for PSG last season, scoring nine goals and giving six assists to his teammates, but just 21 of those matches were starts. Kolo Muani set PSG back a remarkable €95m last summer, and there is no chance Atletico would be willing to put up a similar fee, meaning it would likely be a loan move. Atletico have also been linked with Girona striker Artem Dovbyk.
