Veteran star passed fit for Spain v Georgia

Spain will be at full strength for their Euro 2024 last 16 clash with Georgia on June 30.

La Roja take on Georgia in Cologne after finishing top of Group B ahead of Italy with maximum points.

Luis de la Fuente made sweeping changes for their final group game, a 1-0 win over Albania, with knockout stage qualification assured.

However, he is expected to rotate to his preferred starting XI against Georgia, but one or two tweaks are possible.

With Dani Carvajal currently one yellow card away from missing a potential quarter final, de la Fuente is assessing his options, with Jesus Navas on standby.

The Sevilla captain completed 90 minutes as Carvajal’s replacement against Albania despite injuring his foot early in the game.

As per the latest update from Marca, the 38-year-old has returned to training, and is fit to face Georgia.

The sensation is that de la Fuente will start Carvajal, but Navas will be thrown as a precaution, if Spain are in control.
