Arsenal star agrees terms on La Liga loan

Arsenal are ready to offload Albert Sambi Lokonga this summer with Sevilla on course for a deal.

The Belgian international has struggled to make an impact at the Emirates Stadium since his arrival from Anderlecht in 2021.

Injuries and a lack of space in Mikel Arteta’s midfield has kept the 24-year-old on the fringes and he has admitted to wanting an exit.

Arteta is happy to oblige, after mixed loan spells at Premier League neighbours Crystal Palace and Luton Town, in the last two seasons.

As per reports from Football London, Arsenal have agreed terms with Sevilla on a loan deal for the 2024/25 campaign, with a €3m fee.

However, the remaining stumbling block centres on a purchase clause, which Arsenal want to be mandatory in 2025, but Sevilla are pushing for flexibility.

If the two clubs can resolve that issue, a deal should be wrapped up before the start of preseason, with Sevilla playing warm up games in Spain and Portugal next month.
