Jude Bellingham’s first season as a Real Madrid player was a phenomenal one, as he played an integral role in the La Liga, Champions League and Spanish Super Cup treble that was won by Carlo Ancelotti’s side. However, it wasn’t straightforward for the 20-year-old, as he has been nursing a shoulder injury for seven months.
Bellingham suffered a dislocated during the 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano in November. He only missed 2-3 weeks initially, but has been forced to wear a heavy brace to protect his shoulder ever since. As per Cadena SER, surgery is an option, although it is one that all parties are hoping to avoid.
Bellingham was spotted in discomfort before the Champions League final, and if the problem persists during Euro 2024, the decision could be made for surgery to be required. If that does happen, he would miss the entirety of pre-season, and also the start of the 2024-25 campaign itself.
It’s noted that Bellingham has been playing “in a lot of pain” over these last few months, and it would probably serve him well to go under the knife post-Euro 2024. It would be a blow for Real Madrid to be without his services for the first few weeks of next season, but in the long run, it would surely be beneficial.
As an avid Real Madrid fan I think it is the best course and the smarter move for Jude to have his surgery as soon as possible, maybe tomorrow, so that his recovery period will not keep him from playing for Real Madrid who are paying him his millions and not England.
I am sure England wants Jude to play for them at the upcoming Euro tournament but of he does takes this gamble and delay his surgery then he will also delay returning to play for Real for more than a month which in my opinion is not fair for Real Madrid.
Jude should be smart and have his surgery ASAP so he will be able to return playing for Real a lot sooner and also to miss as few matches as possible.
